Following the success of Advance Party I (Andrea Arnold’s RED ROAD and Morag McKinnon’s forthcoming DONKEYS), Sigma Films have launched Advance Party II, developing eight new films from some of the most exciting filmmaking talent emerging from the UK and Ireland.

Taking lead from the competitive, creative community of the Dogme movement, Advance Party I imposed rules on it’s filmmakers primarily focused on using a pre determined pool of characters.
Advance Party II has a new set of rules, devised by the filmmakers in Berlin earlier this year. There are eight central rules, some creative and some production focused.
Sigma is collaborating with Zentropa (Denmark) and Subotica (Ireland) on Advance Party II, the scheme is backed by Scottish Screen, the Irish Film Board, Zentropa and the UK Film Council’s Development Fund.
